Dallas Love Field (DAL) is located just 7 miles northwest of the downtown business district of Dallas, Texas. Love Field had been the primary airport of the Dallas area until Dallas Fort Worth International Airport opened. Dallas Love Field is now the secondary airport for the Dallas area.

Love Field is served primarily by Southwest Airlines, which was founded there and has its corporate headquarters on the airport grounds. Delta Connection and Continental Express also offer flights out of Love Field in Dallas.

Direct flight destinations have been limited by the Wright and Shelby amendments in order to protect the Dallas Fort Worth Airport. However, Love Field still serves around 160 flights a day and nearly 8 million passengers a year.

Love Field has 3 runways, two concourses, and 20 gates. The East Concourse has 5 gates while the West Concourse has 15 gates. There are a number of shops and restaurants for passenger convenience in the concourses. There is on sight airport parking as well as several car rental services as well as taxi service available.
